Friends coming and going!

Friends have always been a great part of our lives. We met some great friends in Syracuse during law school and have been friends with them ever since. I remember being in our first apartment in Syracuse and receiving some mail addressed to the Millers. I thought, "Maybe they are in our ward." So I waited until Sunday to see if these "Millers" happened to be at church. Sure enough, after asking the bishop's wife who the Millers were, she pointed out this awesome family. I gave them their mail and we became instant friends. Mac and Jeremy became friends through law school as well. I tell this story because since our time in Syracuse, the Millers had moved to Virginia and we weren't too far behind them. They were here for 4 years and we just hit our 3 year mark living in Virginia. We have seen them often and have strengthened our friendship along the way. The sad news is that the Millers moved to Utah last month. Jeremy had to stay behind for work for a few weeks. We told him he was more than welcome to stay with us. He did! While he was living with us, our good friends from Syracuse, the Riddels, came by for a visit. They try to visit us every year and we try to do the same. The Riddels found out that Jeremy was moving so they wanted to see him before he left. I did leave one important detail out. Mac, Jeremy, and Tom Riddel (no, not Voldemort) served together in the Bishopric. They have all been very close since then. So, the Riddels came out and Jeremy was here and we also invited the Kachers, who are also good friends from Syracuse and who have since moved to Virginia. One night while the Riddels were here, we had a BBQ and Debbie Riddel made wonderul Dinosaur BBQ baked beans. Now Dinosaur BBQ is a well-known restaurant in Syracuse, and a well like place to eat for that matter. We loved going there when we lived in Syracuse so when she made this dish, it brought back a lot of memories! We had so much fun together. We sure are going to miss the Miller clan but we will see them again soon. The Riddels, on the other hand, are not too far away.
