As many of you know, Joshua has spina bifida. He has done really well thus far and is the highlight of our family. I am part of a spina bifida blog online and we as mom's share highlights of our kiddos and questions we might have with one another. This helps us in raising a child with a disability because we are all so new at this. I met a girl on there who moved to Virginia about 2 months ago. She has a daughter with spina bifida and it turns out that she is pregnant with her second and is only 1 month behind me. We started chatting on the blog. We finally decided it was time to meet and especially let our kids meet.

We met at a park in McLean called Clemyjontre. It is a park for the public that was made especially for kids with special needs. It has a play area that is wheelchair accessible. This is them at the end of the playdate. It was so hot that day, we ended up sitting under the shade for most of the time.

After a while of sitting, they couldn't handle it anymore, both got in their walkers, and started walking. They had the best time. The first time Josh saw her, he said, "You are just like me!" It was adorable. We will be getting together with them again real soon.
